Election Reform
The electoral college is responsible for the two dumbest presidents, possibly ever. George Dubya Bush and Donny Twomp do not have all their mental faculties about them, but they got into the white house because of the electoral college. Clearly, this system sucks and needs to be abandoned.
We need ranked choice voting. We need to end the two party system. We need an enforced ban on lying about your opponent. We need to end privately funded campaigns. The winner of an election should be determined by policies, not by whoever ran the most ads.
No more private parties, no more closed door meetings, no more billionaire funded ad campaigns, and no more begging ordinary Americans to chip in. Elections should be as simple as 1-2-3.
- You register with the FEC to be listed as a candidate, filling out a form with your political stances, priorities, and anything else you want the public to know. (subject to fact checking)
- The people are granted a list of candidates and their beliefs as they are made available.
- They vote.
No donors, no attack ads, no building a cult of personality, just ideology against ideology.
