Honesty and Integrity in the News

Categories :

The way news is dispersed has evolved. Most people don’t get their news from the papers or networks. Most people get the news from social media and podcasts.

Even in the days before social media, there was an issue with misinformation and disinformation in the media. Newscasters could get away with spinning a story under the banner of “no spin”, they could get away with voicing opinions as facts, and they could get away with “just asking questions” about well understood topics to sow distrust.

We need stronger laws against lying in the media. We need laws preventing people from asking bad faith questions to poison the minds of millions.

People who yell fire in a crowded theater should be silenced, and they shouldn’t be able to do a podcast circuit telling millions of americans that they’re being silenced for spreading fear about a fake fire.

We need to hold podcasters and independent journalists to high standards, and we need consequences for lying.

Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, the other loser- andy shulz or whatever. They steered American citizens away from the truth and they should be held accountable.
