Tax Reform
So much of the wealth in this country is tied up in hedge funds, assets, it’s in theoretical money limbo that allows elon musk to be a gazillionaire while somehow not having any money at all in a way that allows him and all the other wealthy slugs to dodge taxes.
No more I say, no more.
Until our economy balances out, I say we only tax *illionaires. If you have over 7 digits of wealth, if you have MORE than 7 digits of wealth, get ready to kiss it goodbye. Our infrastructure is breaking down. Our schools are under funded so they keep failing so fox entertainment can keep telling people we need to cut funding because somehow that’s the solution they arrived at.
I admit I’m not an expert on the subject, but from what I’ve heard of Henry George’s land tax theory, I fuck with that too. A single land value tax would be a wonderful long term goal to aspire too, but in the meantime we need to cut the epstein class down to size.
I believe that people should be allowed to decide how their tax dollars get spent. We all know the silly song and dance we do with the American government. They know how much money we owe them, but they make us do the math anyway, and if we get the math wrong we go to jail. Stupid. Instead, the government should send you a bill for what you owe the nation, and a form you can fill out of what you want to spend your taxes on. Parks, Infrastructure, Education, Scientific Research, NASA, the military, you get to choose how much of your money you spend, and where you spend it. It’s OUR government. we’re the one’s paying for it, we should have some say in what we’re paying for, with exceptions for national emergencies.
For instance, if a severe hurricane strikes our southern or eastern coasts, you would not be allowed to withhold taxes from disaster relief services. If there was a famine, you could not withhold taxes from nationalized food production methods.
Furthermore, If you provide a public good or service, you would be exempt from taxes in that sector, with a maximum exemption of $100,000
